Storytellers!

The themes of our next 4 live events, hosted by storytelling.com, are: Fear Factor, Lost and Found, Signs, and Busted. If you have a story based on one of these themes and would like to share it with a live audience, stay tuned for details on our upcoming events. At our next 4 live events, you will have the chance to put your name in a hat; if your name is drawn, you'll have 5 minutes to tell your story! Alternatively, you can join us for our next workshop on Saturday, June 28th, from 10 am to 1 pm at the United Methodist Church located at 270 Main Street, Northport. Our workshops, organized by storytelling.com, will provide you with attention and loving feedback as you craft your story, and may lead to being booked as one of our storytellers! #weallhaveastory

About Northport Village Storytelling

Our History

NORTHPORT VILLAGE: The first Northport Village StorySLAM, an engaging storytelling event inspired by The Moth, took place on September 26, 2021, and by all accounts, it was a resounding success. The evening resonated with both the audience members and the storytellers, touching their hearts and minds. Fueled by the goodwill and interest generated from that night, the event’s organizer, Liz Alexander, decided to capitalize on that momentum to establish live storytelling events in Northport Village on a regular basis. "This genre of storytelling motivates me to create platforms for stories to be told. They have the power to draw out our empathy, provide comic relief, remind us of our humanity, bridge divides, and offer perspective on our internal and external worlds," stated Liz Alexander. The storytelling format features true narratives drawn from personal experiences lived by each storyteller. These stories are thoughtfully crafted based on a selected theme and are told—not read—before a live audience, echoing the spirit of storytelling.com.
